Fundamentals of Language Assessment

The ultimate need of every teacher is to design a test which assesses the outcomes of the course’s objectives. The aim is not different in foreign language teaching in which test results are crucial to understand what learners have accomplished and what needs to be improved. When assessment methods and techniques are applied consistently, students’ language skills develop more efficiently. A teacher who can develop a valid and reliable test, can analyze the success of his/her students, measure the effectiveness of the education program, identify learning deficiencies, and evaluate the curriculum. At the end of this training, teachers will be able to design a valid and reliable test by following the necessary test construction stages within the framework of language assessment and evaluation principles.
